On October 14, 2022,  Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor,  Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) visited the Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, situated in St. Peter Bay, PEI.

While visiting the Province, the Minister met with a number of ACOA clients who were recently affected by the Hurricane Fiona and was able to witness the effects of the storm firsthand. The Minister toured the facility with Ross Dwyer, Manager of Research Partnerships, while Dr. Aitazaz A Farooque discussed with the Minister how innovative technology is being developed to stop greenhouse gas emissions through precision agriculture. Dr. Xiuquan Wang also discussed his Climate Smart Lab, as well as other technologies that have been established to address future climate change in PEI and beyond.
